Dreamwriter

Liliana woke up in a daze. It took her a while to finally remember her entrapment in Queen Delanettes castle. She closed her eyes again, hoping that her dreams would take her back into a peaceful and quiet place.

"You awake?" questioned the girl in the corner, in a wavering and sad tone.

"Yes, are you going to talk to me again?" questioned Liliana.

"Yea I guess. I mean I've only talked to the queen my whole life, and it wasn't like I got to talk to her all that often, so I don't see a reason not to talk to you."

"Is it true you don't know your name."

"Well I'm not quite sure what I look like so how am I supposed to know my name. Where did you come from anyway. The stars maybe? I saw the stars once when Queen Delanette took me out on the highest tower of the castle, their beautiful."

"No, I didn't come from the stars. I come from a land named Ellaville. It's pretty far away from here but not as far as the stars. No one lives on the stars as far as I know."

"You come from this planet!! But how? I mean the Queen told me, she and I were the only people left and the awful beasts haunted this planet and so I must stay in the dungeon, for my own protection of course." the girl said surprised and shocked.

"No, no awful beasts haunt this planet except maybe the queen herself for telling you such lies," Liliana replied in a disgusted tone.

"Are you absolutely certain? I guess I always suspected something but I've know Queen Delanette my entire life, and if I couldn't trust her, I just don't know who I could trust." the girl replied sadly.

"You can trust me. You really can. I suspect you are a princess that was stolen away as a child."

Slam! The big dungeon doors creaked open. A dark shadow entered and suddenly everything went black.

"What have you done to her!" the girl yelled with horror.

"Nothing darling," the queen replied, grinning. "I just threw some of my special tea on her and when she wakes up, that monster will be under my control."

"My queen, is it true. Am I a princess and all the things you have told me are lies?"

"Of course not dear. She is one of the monsters from the outside, hiding in human form. Now don't you worry about anything. I shouldn't have put her in there with you but I'm not made of dungeons." The queen replied slyly.

"I shouldn't have doubted you. I'm sorry my queen," the girls solemnly said. Then looking over the queen's shoulder she noticed another shadow in the doorway. "Who's that?" she questioned Delanette, pointing at the dark figure.

Turning around, the queen glared at the boy in the dark and yelled at him. "Jorsten! I told you never to come down here! LEAVE NOW!" Jorsten didn't leave though he remained in the doorway. "Does someone need some more tea? or is it your hearings gone dull!!" The queen yelled.

"No. I'm not obeying you anymore. An old friend came to see you and he did me the favor of breaking your spell."

"But only two people can break my spells; the fairy queen and ........." The queen trailed off when she realized who her visitor was. Another shadow came into view behind Jorsten and the queen noticed the figure of the shadow right away. "Parnen" she muttered disgusted.

"Hello Delanette," the wizard smiled under his long beard. Parnen took his staff and said a few words under his breath. The dungeon lit up with light.

"Are you going to win the battle for these children," she scoffed, gesturing to Liliana asleep on the floor, and Jorsten in the doorway.

"No it's their battle." Parnen replied sadly, "It is there journey."

"Then who is going to fight me," laughed Delanette with disdain in her voice.

" I will." a small voice squeaked from the corner of the dungeon.

The queen turned around, expecting Liliana waiting to fight but it wasn't Liliana at all. It was the girl that sat in the corner who until now had believed the queens every word but her mind was now free from the poison the queen had told her. Even though the queen was the only person she thought she knew in the whole entire world, the girl trusted Liliana more than her. There was something that was in Liliana's voice that wasn't ever found in the Queen's, the truth.

Delanette looked into the girls eyes, and realized that the princess knew the truth. A grin suddenly grew on the queen face; a sly, evil grin. For the queen knew even with the truth, the princess couldn't leave. "Very well, go ahead and try," the queen responded. The girl hesitated, and then stood up. She took her fists out and stood in a fighting stance. The queen laughed and then with one swoop of the hand, hit the poor girl on the head harshly and unmercilessly. The girl lay sprawled out on the floor. Liliana a few feet over, woke up from the potion or tea that had been thrown on her.

"Wonderful your awake," the queen smiled. "Now that you are under my spell, take the girl onto the highest tower and tie her up."

"Yes, your majesty." Liliana replied, and slowly picked up the motionless body.

"No Liliana. What are you doing!! Don't do it. Fight it Liliana fight it!!" Jorsten yelled from his spot, blocking her from leaving.

"Oh are you still here." the queen turned around in fake surprise and with another strike of her hand she knocked Jorsten out as well.
