Josten was almost as fast as Willow. Liliana was behind the two but was getting better at running. The two guards couldn't keep up with the group because of all their heavy armour. Soon Josten, Liliana, and Willow had escaped from the guards. The sat down and rested. Willow rushed away and came back with the vegetable they ate for breakfast that morning.
"What is this?" Josten asked gobbling his down.
"It's a leaf from the Kukom tree. It can only be eaten in the summer. In all other seasons the leaf turns purple and is poisonous. Lucky I keep finding trees that are still green and aren't starting to turn the poisonous purple." Willow explained.
The group wondered around in the forest until they came to a small wooden hut. They knocked on the door. A quite grumpy looking dwarf that was very small. He had dark green hair and eyes that matched. The dwarf wore a dark blue pant and a lighter blue shirt. There were no shoes on his feat. "Yea? Whacha want!"
"We are looking for someone." Willow said loud and confidently.
"And..." The dwarf said
"Well we don't know what she looks like but she is probably a beautiful princess with long black hair."
"There are no princesses here!"
"How about a girl with black hair?"
"No"
"You should go and ask Parnen, the wizard of the woods."
"Where could we find him"
"If you need him he'll find you."
Clunk! The grumpy dwarf slammed the door and he wouldn't open it again when they knocked again. The three walked along hoping to find another home that knew about the wizard. They walked along for around two hours in silence and couldn't find another living creature. All they could do was hope.

"And you." the boy replied.

"So, what's your name?"

"I told you it... Servant of Delanette." the boy said.

Lilliana was suprised at this. "Servant of Delanette? That's not a name at all." She paused and then had an idea. "How do you like Jorstan? It means 'courage' where I come from "

"Jorstan. Jorstan the servant. No, not the servant, not anymore. Just Jorstan. I like it." He smiled at the name.

Willow rolled her eyes. "OK, people. Names are great and all, but we can all chat later. Here's what's important." The fairy flew in front of Jorstan. "Where's the missing princess of Elaville?"

Jorstan blinked at the tiny fairy. "I really have no clue. I don't even know who you're talking about! I've lived here since I was a baby."

"Are you sure?" Willow said slowly.

"Yes, I'm sure..." Jorstan answered just as slowly.

'Willow, Jorstan, please. Can we at least pretend we get along?" Lilliana pleaded.

"Fine." they both replied.

They all sat there, taking a break before continuing on their journey to find the king's daughter. Suddenly, all three heard shouting.

"THERE THEY ARE!" a man's voice shouted. Three very tall men holding metal spears came running at them. The statues!

"C'mon!" Lilliana whispered to the others.

"GO!" the queen said "There is no point of you being here!"
Zip! Willow was gone and Liliana, more slowly, ran after her.
"Wait! Come over here!" somebodys voice echoed in the air outside. Liliana stoped, turned around and notice someone arm sticking through a window. She walked over to it and noticed inside was the boy they had seen earlier. "Here help me get out. This is my chance to ecscape!" Liliana held out her hand and he grabbed ahold of it. When he had got out of the window he started runing for the gate and Liliana followed.
"So this is what freedom is like." The boy said when they were a safe distance from the castle.
"Who's he?' Willow asked. (Willow just kind of appeared when they stopped)
"Well I am servant of Delantte, Queen of the woods," said the boy " and you?"
"Willow Starlight." Willow stated quite rudly.
"Willow, try being nice! I am Liliana, pleased to meet you."

Both girls were silent in fear. Before long, Lilliana summoned all of her courage and spoke.

"We come, in the name of Queen Wesdele, to ask you about the King of Elaville's daughter, heir to the throne. She has been missing since she was very young, and the king has suspicions that your people took her. A war between the Land of Magic and Elaville is being fought because of that. We wish to save all of our kingdoms..." Lilliana shook with fear and could say no more.

"All we want to know is if you took her or not." Willow finished for her.

The evil fairy queen laughed a terrible laugh. "Stupid girls! How would I know what all happens in my kingdom? I don't care if my denizens take some insignificant girl! She matters not."

Willow was a little angry at Queen Delanette's reply. "Then do you know anyone who could know the princess' whereabouts?"

"Of course not! I am much to busy... wreaking havoc!" Another evil laugh came from Queen Delanette.

The left door creaked open slightly. A human boy not much older than Lilliana or Willow appeared. He was dressed in rags and had black hair. "Your Majesty, I am done... oh!" he cried. "I didn't know you had guests. I'll be going now." He hurried back through the door and shut it behind him.

Lilliana and Willow looked after the boy, then looked at each other. The queen must be lying.

Suddenly the remaining light in the room disappeared. Willow became small once again and hid in Liliana hair. Liliana stood still not moving, and not thinking. The tiny fairy in Liliana's hair felt stupid being scared like that and immediately turned big once again. Suddenly the room became cold and the small light that were there before came back.
" WHAT DO YOU WANT." The voice made them shudder. It was raspy and deep yet was very loud and frightening. Liliana looked around trying to find the voice then notice a dark figure in the chair. She knew this must be the queen of the dark fairies. Queen Delanette was tall and thin. Her hair was long and black which swirled around her slim figure. she wore a gown of deep violet that came down to a little above her ankles. The sleeves of her dress ended at her elbows and then opened very wide. There was beauty of the queen to like her dark blue eyes and her pink, plump lip. All in all though the queen could scare the wildest animal in the darkest of the woods.
"I SAID WHAT DO U WANT!"

They walked right into the eerie castle into an equally dark room. All of the light was provided by a single candle chandiler in the center of the large room. Willow grew to the same height as Lilliana. Both fairy and human had the same fearful expression, although Willow tried to hide it. Before them were 3 plain doors and standing by each door was a statue of a very tall man. The statues were cracked in places with vines obscuring their faces, and each was holding a metal spear. Lilliana attempted to show the same courage as the fairy, but to no avail.

"W- which door?" Lilliana whispered, her voice breaking.

Willow shrugged in reply. "Whistle, thistle, misty, may, I guess?"

"What?"

The fairy rolled her eyes. "Of course a human wouldn't do whistle, thistle, misty, may." she said with disgust. "Eenie, meenie, mynie, mo."

"Oh." Lilliana tried to stay quiet after that.

The two selected the right door, but it was not the throne room. The left was some sort of sitting room. Willow turned the knob for the center room and found a room of black marble and grey velvet and silk wall drapes. In the very center was an empty throne, uhpolstered in the grey velvet and silk and made of ebony wood. 2 more doors were on both sides of the throne. Lilliana and Willow were both in awe at the room's dark beauty.

Liliana stared the gates and castle were black. Green vine with sharp thorns twist around the gates and the castle. There were dead flowers outside the castle and weed twisting and killing every other living plant. A mucky swamp with green water swirled around the castle making the most awful looking moat Liliana had ever seen. Liliana turned her head.
"We have to go in there you know," Willow said in the most calm voice she had heard her speak."
"I know. I have one question,"
"yea?"
"Why me."
"Don't know. That's a question you should ask the queen." Liliana was shocked by Willows sudden change in voice. "Now we gotta go there are no guards or lock."
"Fine"
Liliana walked up to the gates and pushed them open. The question remained in her head though. Why me?

It was afternoon before long. In the light, Lilliana saw that the trees around her were gnarled and bare. A thick layer of fog diffused the sun's light. Willow appeared not to be worried, although she slowed her flight down alot. A large, dark shape appeared on the horizon. Willow stopped completely, and Lilliana stopped as well.

"The castle of Queen Delanette." the fairy announced. Lilliana stared at the twisted black towers of the castle. A certain atmosphere of gloom and fear hung around the castle. "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go!" Lilliana had no other option but to follow Willow to the giant castle.

Willow rushed ahead in the moonlight, quickly dodging trees and other obstacles in her way. The fairy was fast for being so little. Her wings moved as fast as the humming birds. Liliana trying to keep up with the little creature stumbled along and rushed behind. Her eyes sometimes got lost in the dark and couldn't find the fairy but she would keep tripping along until her eyes had found the dark figure rushing through the trees.
Soon the sun rose and Willow finally jolted to a stop. "We'll stop her" she said.
Liliana had a billion questions to ask the tiny fairy but she chose not. Willow was very strong headed and quite temperamental she had noticed. Liliana caught her breath then suddenly she looked around and noticed Willow was gone. She sat down and soon Willow came back with a green plant. she hand a big piece to Liliana and she ate it, without questioning what the vegetable was.
"Come!" The little fairy yelled and they were off once again.
